We had some fun adventures over this past weekend. Papa's Papa (you know, the dad of the one I am married
to) flew in from the west coast for a visit; and, he and I went with a group of my photo
friends from RISD to New York City. We Started out at
B&H Photo, and then hit the PDN Photoplus Photography Expo.
There were vendors, seminars and a bunch of
awesome. Also, Papa's Papa got to meet Julianne
Kost; which, if you are really into Adobe products, like we are, means
something to you.
From there we went to the 9/11 Memorial and then to the
Strand book store.
It was a day packed
with destinations and interesting and reflective things.
On Saturday, the pups had their last day of soccer. Seal Pup 2.0 “kicked the ball 5 times.”
It may not seem like the biggest deal; but,
for a while there, all he did during scrimmages was turn his back to the
ball. He often mentioned that he “love
baseball,” which is great…since he was playing soccer.
To be fair, he might actually love
baseball. I guess we will find out in
the spring when he actually plays baseball (and not soccer). Seal Pup 1.0 got to try his hand at goalie (ha, you see what I did there, oh, nevermind). I think he is a fan.
While the boys were finishing up soccer, I went to the Salem
Public Library’s fall book sale and bought 73 books for $21. It was kind of awesome. The pups certainly aren't complaining (guess who got all the books).
On Sunday, we took a trip to Clyde’s Cider Mill.
We
got to see a old fashioned cider press, ate cider donuts and drank hot apple
cider. It was a New England kind of day!

Funnier.
Funniest.
We have been doing our fair share of wondering for the last month and a half. How about I tell you about the rest of May?
That was fun.
And then we explored Washington DC a little bit.
Seal Pup 1.0 fell and hurt himself.
But he got over it pretty quickly.
We cut our trip short because Seal Pup 2.0 got a stomach bug or food poisoning (we never figured out which) in the middle of our second night there, so we left early.
That's right sheep and wool festival season is here! I know that not everyone shares my enthusiasm for this sort of thing. But fortunately for me, the pups still think we go to these things for them.
I understand that this works completely in my favor. Right now.
Papa has already mentioned that as soon as they aren't excited to go to these festivals, I will be on my own. Which I am fine with, of course. But it's fun to do this stuff as a family, so long as all parties are interested (or can fake it).
I
This year there were sheep (obviously, and llamas, alpacas, bunnies, goats, and, well, dogs--of the sheep hearding variety, or course).
It was a nice way to kick of the season, and get up ready for the
We did go to Rhinebeck, New York for a wool and sheep festival two weekends ago. And we had a great time.
The weekend was less about sheep and more about having fun and seeing old (and new friends).
The pups found rides.
And Papa entertained the kids at a knitter's meet-up.
And yes, we saw sheep.
I am in the process of sorting through 12oo photographs of European vactioning at the moment, until I can get that taken care of, why don't we talk about our family venture south to Maryland, shall we? Oh and yes, hello, we are back.
At the beginning of last month, the family made the trek down to the
But we stayed long enough to see sheep, so that's something.
After the heat and sheep exposure, we decided to visit the
Before we headed home on Sunday, we visited some friends in Baltimore and stopped at a little neighborhood playground in Laurel.
